The proposed maximum $14.4 million settlement from Apple to eligible members of a class-action lawsuit accusing the company of intentionally slowing down iPhone 6 and 7 models has been approved by a B.C. Supreme Court judge.

Apple has refuted the claims and had previously agreed to pay between $11.1 million and $14.4 million as part of the settlement, emphasizing that it does not imply any admission of wrongdoing.

Claimants will receive between $17.50 and $150 depending on the number of people applying for the settlement, provided they submit the serial number of the affected phone.

Customers who purchased an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, SE, 7, or 7 Plus with iOS 10.2.1 or later (for iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, or SE) and/or iOS 11.2 or later (for iPhone 7 or 7 Plus) before Dec. 21, 2017 may qualify for the settlement, as indicated on a website representing the class action.
